DO YOU . . .

by Kristine Stanton © 2023

"Turn to me and have mercy,
for I am alone and in deep distress."
(Psalm 25:16, NLT)

Do you have days that steal your joy,
and you just want to cry?
Do you feel lonely and depressed
and can't imagine why?

Do you persistently hold on
to things you should forget?
Does your mind replay past scenes
of matters you regret?

Do you forgive the hurtful wrongs
done by those you know?
Does bitterness dwell in your heart
and you can't let it go?

Do you apologize for wrongs—
the ones that you have done?
Do you blame others for your faults
and think you have done none?

Do you want changes in your life
that help your heart to smile?
Do you want days of happiness
and peace that is worthwhile?

Well, there is One to call upon—
He is the Holy Son.
He'll lead you to safe, tranquil grounds
before each day is done.

He'll fill the void that's in your life—
just fix your eyes on Him.
Come trust in Christ with all your heart
and you'll feel joy within.

"Those who look to him for help
will be radiant with joy because
when you have Christ, you are complete."
(Psalm 34:5, NLT, Colossians 2:10, NLV)
