Who Will We Follow

by Mark Henderson © 2016

The world spins as do men
Out of balance. Out of control
Raging storms all for them
And a war with all its turmoil

Who will we follow
Who will we believe
Who will we allow
Our soul to deceive

And as the rain falls
On our window pane
Its streaks call
For us by name

Who will we follow
Whom will we believe
Who will we allow
Our soul to deceive

And then the thunder
Speaks volumes still
Awaking from slumber
A conscious gone ill

Who will we follow
Whom will we believe
Who will we allow
Our soul to deceive

And its winds roar
Through the open space
Of the hearts core
While seeking our face

Who will we follow
Whom will we believe
Who will we allow
Our heart to deceive

________________

But all is now quiet
As the storm has passed
But we in spite it
Still awake in our past

Who will we follow
Whom will we believe
Who will we allow
Our soul not to deceive

And a still silent voice
To a conscience awake
Is ready to give choice
For a heart at stake

Who will you follow
Whom will you believe
Who will you allow
Your soul not to deceive

For this our time
And this is the place
To awake from crime
And seek His face

For who will we follow
Whom will we believe
And whom will we allow
Our soul to receive...

"Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and dine with him, and he with Me." Revelation 3:20
