Bubble Gum

by Patricia Joan Polhans

Fee fi fo fum
I have some bubble gum.
Blow my bubbles
Day by day.
Now it's time
To hit the hay.
Off to bed
Fast asleep.
Out it rolled
On my cheek.

Wake up to
The cool air.
Look out now!
It's in my hair.
Peanut butter
To get it out
Don't sleep with gum
In your mouth!
Leave it on
The bedpost.

Pray to Father,
Son and Holy ghost.
Will never again
Go to bed
With gum that sticks
To my head.
The trick is to keep
It in your cheek
While in bed
Fast asleep.
