A Sign of Life

by mark walters

I didn't die to ease your life
To fill your wallet
Or fix your wife

I wasn't true so you could lie
Or turn away
But learn to die

I wasn't mocked that you'd be safe
But sent a sword
So life would chafe

My blood was shed to set you free
For eagles soar
In liberty

Die to your flesh and live for Me
The cross you need
If you will be

The sons of God borne out of strife
The fight within you
A sign of life
