A question of trust…

by Bettina Van Vaerenbergh

To blindly trust in one's own heart,
Nothing good it brings!
The heart of man is treacherous;
Deceitful above all things.

The heart is desperately wicked,
But hear, there is a cure:
To place all one's trust in Jesus,
Brings great blessedness for sure.

Jesus knows what's best for you;
He knows your every need.
The Lord who redeemed your soul
Will take good care of you indeed.

We were made for loving Jesus,
Made to depend wholly upon God.
Trust in Him with all your heart,
On your own understanding lean not.

Friend, cease from your own wisdom,
Or much mis'ry you'll endure…
Have faith in Jesus, lean on Jesus —
He is your Savior, and the only cure!
