Conflicts

by Donna Hendrix

Conflicts are just part of the life we live
Handle by trying to learn to forgive
Conflicts can bring about the ruin of great nations
Or widen the gap between generations
There are many a conflict between man and wife
Causing many a day of family strife
Couples who are unable to resolve
Many times have marriages that dissolve
Conflicts arise during the work day
Causing many problems and disarray
Conflicts arise between God and man
When we stray from our Savior's plan

Sometimes it's easy to ignore conflict
Just sit it aside and pretend it doesn't exist
But you should confront it head on
Talk it out before dusk turns to dawn
Don't let it simmer and boil out of control
Stop it from overflowing out of the bowl
Mimic Jesus' manner when handling such issues
A meek and mild manner can help it to diffuse
Drop to your knees and seek God's guidance
Listen for His words of wisdom in a moment of silence
Well placed thoughts and words can disarm a bad situation
Careful words out of the mouth can help mend relations.

Set a watch, O LORD, before my mouth; keep the door of my lips. Psalm 141:3
