Missing the Call

by Donna Hendrix

True, you're not saved by the works you do
But when you're saved God expects good works from you
Don't think because you've accepted His amazing gift for free
That your life shouldn't be any different than it used to be
What a glorious thing that you've been saved
In the light of Jesus love you've been bathed
Now it's time for you your faith to grow
Your garden of virtue to plant and hoe
Fertilize with a daily dose of the Word of God
And see your faith grow as on God's path you trod
You will have a harvest of good deeds to show for your life
As you continue to grow in the image of Christ
For faith without works is not faith at all
When you're saved with no works you're missing the call

5 But also for this very reason, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue, to virtue knowledge, 6 to knowledge self-control, to self-control perseverance, to perseverance godliness, 7 to godliness brotherly kindness, and to brotherly kindness love.
