Be Not Afraid . . .

the Lord is by your side.
He'll gather you beneath His wing,
where you may safely hide.
No harm will come to you, dear one—
no harm will come your way—
no pestilence that stalks at night
nor plague that strikes midday.
Just trust the Lord, your Mighty King,
for He is One who's armed,
and He will save you from the snare
that's meant to cause you harm.
Yes, do not dread—be not dismayed
of what the night might bring.
The Lord your God is mightier
than any evil thing.
So, when the darkness of the night
might come to cause you fear,
don't let it have its way with you—
remember, God is near. .
Come love Him with your heart and soul,
and do not be afraid.
Acknowledge Him in every way
and He'll come to your aid . . .
The Lord will answer when you call
should trouble come your way.
He'll be the everlasting Light
that shines both night and day.
