Glory to the Son

by Clinton Herring © 2020

The honor and His fame,
The glory due His name!
Great God, the One, I Am!
The gift of God, the Lamb!
With mercy eyes would give,
That we His saints should live!
To earth as man He came,
For joy, endure the shame.
His blood He shed, He died.
The gates now opened wide!
He took our sins, He did!
The Father's will He bid!
Yes, death on us did rest.
For us His glorious quest!
He vanquished death and sin!
Gave us that glorious win!
The gift from Him on High,
That we should live, not die!
What enemy stood to beat?
Yes, all He would defeat!
His grace and truth His sword,
This mighty glorious Lord!
The Rose of Sharon is He!
The one who set us Free!
The Lion of Judah, the same,
With mercy heals the lame!
He did it ALL, not one,
Yes, He the prize has Won!
His love commands all time!
Our lives, now His in rhyme!
Sing loud, yes strike the chord!
The Son who is our Lord!
The honor and His fame!
All glory due His name!
