Lord, Set A Watch

by Deborah Smith Plemmons © 2019

Lord, set a watch
Before me, today.
You are the Potter,
And I am the clay.

Lord, set a watch
Before my mind, today.
May I think godly thoughts
And cast evil ones away.

Lord, set a watch
Before my eyes, today.
May I see what is good
And not bad through my day.

Lord, set a watch
Before my ears, today.
May I listen to what's pleasing
And hear You, when I pray.

Lord, set a watch
Before my mouth, today.
May I speak words of kindness
And not regret what I say.

Lord, set a watch
Before my heart, today.
May I hide Your Words there
And not sin, but You obey.

Lord, set a watch
Before my hands, today.
May I strive to be helpful
And not harmful in any way.

Lord, set a watch
Before my feet, today.
May I walk in Your paths
And avoid going astray.

-------------------

Lord, Thank You for setting a watch
Before all of me, today.
May I remain in Your will
And praise Your name, always.
