Mourning's Gift

Healing lost in my rush from pain
comfort sought, instead of His gain
mourning's gift escapes without thought
abusing the life, His blood bought.

Searching for meaning amongst my ease
intent to do, whatever I please
disengaged from the author of grace
deep joy I continually misplace…

Healing found when embracing His love
comfort claimed, seeking the Lord above,
mourning's gift teaching what should be sought
enhancing the new life, His blood bought.
