I Lay My Heart Before You

I lay my heart before You
and render my soul too.
With faithfulness and trust, Lord,
I commit my life to You.

I look to You for guidance
with every step I take,
and ask You grant me wisdom
for choices that I make.

With every complex notion
please make them simpler ones
and pave the way before me
with footprints from Your Son.

And while I'm on this journey
please shelter me from harm.
O, lift me, Holy Father,
and hold me in Your arms.

Renew my soul and spirit—
cleanse me from within.
Please give to me a pure heart
and wash away each sin.
