True Colors

Images filtered by pride
exposed despite what I've tried,
harsh realities crushing
my deepest heart expressing,
true colors never hidden
my story always written.

Masks developed by my shame
sees me playing silly games,
neglecting who I truly am
hope lost within my worthless sham,
shadows cast over my faith
leaving me a senseless wraith

Instead…

Living open to what is real
seeking what the Lord will reveal,
surrendering my heart to His love
looking past hurt to the Lord above,
grace has torn the curtain wide
never behind its remnants hide.

True colors reflected by His grace
not defined by my broken disgrace,
shining now with a different hue
knowing His strength will guide me through,
the light of living hope renews;
my story, one I won't refuse!
