Tomorrow

by Dave Mudford © 2023

Living for what may come
anxious thoughts fill my mind,
paralysing my now
lost, in what I can't find.

Living bound by my fear
tomorrow imagined,
focus is distracted
now left unexamined.

Living fighting the unknown
twisted by my confusion,
trying for understanding
reaching my own conclusion.

Living in my own strength
afraid what that may mean,
controlled by feeble pride
God's way remains unseen…

Living aware of our God
in the moment that He gives,
safe within His precious plan
knowing, in my heart He lives.

Living with a certain hope
today has enough demands,
future secure in His grace
tomorrow left in God's hands.

Corrie Ten Boom - Worry; does not empty tomorrow of sorrow - it empties today of strength.

Matthew 6:33-34 But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you. "Therefore do not be anxious about tomorrow, for tomorrow will be anxious for itself. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.
