Flowers in the Snow

by Dave Mudford © 2023

Snow covering all that I can see
fresh green growth is nowhere to be found,
cold shadows swamping the bright of day
fear controlling me, as hope is drowned.

The snow is falling into my dreams
causing the colour to fade away,
perspective clouded and filled with dismay
blandness portrait, all that I survey…

Searching through the snow for signs of life
my pride causing Christ's red blood to flow
scarlet stain of sin forever gone
His grace is my flower in the snow.

Snow only highlights the beauty of His love
warmth discovered living in His favor,
a banquet of delight to fill my soul
all God's goodness there for me to savor.

Landscapes ahead of you can seem daunting
stop; smell the sweet fragrance of His flower,
embrace all the colors of life He gives
despite the snow, you will know God's power.
